An observation post in front of the Kula Belgrade

The Sava Panorama observation post is a footbridge, located immediately in front of the Kula Belgrade. The footbridge is the largest and most highlighted facility among a series of facilities placed along the right Sava bank fortification, which have a function of small terraces, i.e. observation posts.

The observation post is a pedestrian path stretching above the Sava River, and in its circular arch, it basically runs in parallel to the main path of the promenade along the bank.

The footbridge “springs out” from the pedestrian corridor at the bank fortification, and “joins” it again after approximately 127 m of developed length above the water, thus forming a single console. The distance from the vertical wall of the bank fortification pedestrian path to the farthest point of the observation post (bow arrow) is approx. 26 m.

The width of the pedestrian path is variable, from 4.0 m in the middle to more than 10 m at the contact with the promenade. The construction height of the case is also variable from 1.5 m in the middle of the span to 3.25 m at the place of wedging into the concrete “beak.” The connection between the steel box section of the span structure and the concrete box section is achieved with threaded anchor rods, 40 mm in diameter.

The observation post is formed of 7 prefabricated segments of individual weight from 40 to 65 tonnes.
